Vegas Part One

My in laws go to Vegas a couple times a year. This trip they invite us to go along. I have been to Vegas once before on our honeymoon. Matt lived in Vegas for about nine months. So we thought it would be a fun trip to make. We stayed with Matt's Aunt Janet. We had fun going to some of the various sites. Emme loved to people watch and loved the animals we saw. She loves to people watch. Though I found it funny that she was scared to death of Matt's cousin Mark. Every time she saw him she freaked out.
Emme staring at the fish at the Bass Shop in Casino on our way to the M for the buffet (all you can eat crab legs!)
I got dared to drive this all over Costco. But I didn't care cause my back was killing me. Me and Matt's cousin raced all over the place.
Costco carts can't hold her down.
She thought it was a toy. She ran towards it the minute I put her down. We had just had breakfast at buffet that had make your own omelet bar!
She just loves to run around now. I am having a hard time keeping up with her
With Daddy at the Bass Shop. She kept trying to pet the stuffed animals
Stealing Grandpa's cell phone at her great Aunt Janet's
She fell asleep in the Godiva store while we were shopping the outlet mall.

There wasn't much for her to do at the aunt house so we had to constantly follow her around and make sure she wasn't getting into bad. I missed my baby gates
She did love the piano she would run to it and play it. She loves music! We are going to have to get her lessons when she is older. Our neighbor teaches them.

Emme Gets a Toddler Bed!!!

Since I am trapped on bed rest for a couple days. I thought I would get around to some things I haven't been able to do chasing Emme around. Doing a little genealogy, reading and decided to update my blog. I haven't really had time to. Emme loves to play with my computer. She loves to open, close it and type on the keys. So I can't work on the computer while she is awake. And by the time is asleep, I am too sleepy to do much. Since she is at Grandma's while I rest. Here is the update on what we have been up to.

Since we are expecting another little one, so close to Emme. (They will be about 18 months apart) We have been trying to figure out what we were going to do about the crib situation. We had no desire or funds to buy another one. However Emme decided to solve this problem for us. Last month, Matt went to go check on Emme in the morning. She was sitting on her adjoining changing table laughing up a storm. We thought it was a fluke so we put her in her crib and watched her climb out. So we decided to get her a toddler bed. So far it works out well except at nap time. Because it is light out she wants to play. Fun part is Matt figured out if he swaddles her she will go to sleep. She refuses to sleep with out her puppy which Lady from Lady and the Tramp. And a sippy cup filled with water. If she wakes up in the middle of the night and it is empty she will cry till one of us come and fills it up. She has begun walking more and is teething six teeth. She is growing up so quickly. Hopefully she will adjust to being a big sister well.

June Baby is a . . .

Since we found out we were expecting, we have been anxiously been waiting to find out what we were having. We both have gone back and forth on what we want . But we are so excited that we are having a healthy little girl. We are planning on naming her Olivia Ellen. Ellen is Matt's grandmother's name. We are due June 2nd. But will probably have her earlier, since I will probably be induced like Emme. Now to work on her room. Poor Matt is so out numbered. We have a female dog and soon two little girls!!!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Monday was my birthday. When I was a kid I use to tell people that is was a national holiday that is why we always had the Monday around it off. I actually convinced a couple kids of that. (Actually we have it off for Martin Luther King Jr Day. )
For my birthday I got to sleep in which is nice since Emme some days wants to be up a 730am. Matt took me out to lunch to Olive Garden. I love their soup and salad lunch. When I was pregnant with Emme, I lived on soup and salad since everything made me sick. Not with this baby it wants to eat everything. (Some of my craves suck because am still looking for a great Chinese place down here.) Then we went looking at baby r us since we had some baby r us bucks to spend. Finishing up at my in laws. Emme is in love with their puppy. It is small enough she can attempt to pet and doesn't get knocked over. Our puppy is big enough to knock her over. Which Kenai often does in attempt to lick her. She had fun following it around the house before we went off to dinner at Market Street Grill. They have yummy fresh seafood, it is a little hard going there and being pregnant. I would have to say thirty percent of the menu I can't have but sounds so yummy.
For my cake this year we had a strawberry cheesecake ice cream cake. It was fun to watch Emme devour it. She had to have a bath before we headed home. It was a wonderful birthday just spending time with Matt and Emme.

Since my Hubby doesn't cook. He took me to Olive Garden for my birthday breakfast/lunch
Emme is trying to feed him her bread stick

My in laws have a puppy named Sophie. Emme loves her a little too much.
We are working on petting the dogs nicely. The dogs tolerate Emme so well

My Birthday Cake is was yummy

Emme Loved it

We stripped her down cause I knew she would make a huge mess.
And would require a bath after wards.

Christmas in Washington Part Two

During our week we went to Pike's Market, Poulsbo which is called little Norway. We went to my favorite little Diner Berryfields. Their food is so yummy, homemade and large portions. It was so good I wrote to Diners, Drive through and Dives. We also went to my grandfather's favorite breakfast place, Judy's. Matt made the mistake of order a short stack of pancakes with his meal. The waitress laughed at him. It turns out the pancakes are the size of dinner plates. Good thing Matt loves pancakes. We had fun at Pike's looking at all the shops, watching the flying fish. We had fun in Poulsbo even though it was cold and long drive. We had fun looking in the shops, trying the swedish bakery. They had the largest donuts I had ever seen. They were so yummy. It was fun, being around my family but it was nice to come home to our house.

Christmas In Washington Part One

For Christmas this year we spent a week in Washington with my family. Matt finally got to meet my Grandmother, my brother Alan and his family and one of my Aunts. We fly up on Christmas Eve. Emme did pretty well on the plane. She didn't much enjoy the car ride. Cause we had to drive to Everett to pick up my grandmother then south to Centralia where my parents live now. She loved playing with her Auntie Sarah and the many bears that decorated the house. She stared at the tree and pet the ornaments. Everyone loved her red hair. She had more fun being the center of attention.

New Holiday Traditions

Matt and I have been married for almost three years (in May). We both have different family traditions. My family has a gourmet junk food party on Christmas Eve. Then we go look at the different lights around Anchorage. And followed by watching our favorite christmas movies (that is really more me and Sarah's thing) Christmas day we open presents, take a nap, hang out and have lasguna. In Matt's family they don't really do anything on Christmas Eve. But on Christmas day we have a yummy brunch at Matt's cousin Marnie's house . Follow by dinner and games at his Aunt Linda's house. Both have lots of good food and family. As we progress in being a married couple we want to have our own traditions and intermix our families'. Since we usually stay in Utah we spend Chrismas Day with Matt's family. While Christmas Eve we have a junk food party with our favorite christmas movies. We added a couple new ones to our traditions. We love going to the Temple Square Christmas lights. Though we didn't go this year because we both came down with a horrible cold. But we did go to the festival of the trees. We love looking at the different trees. Including the one my patients decorated. We hope to find different little things to add over the years.
