Olivia Ellen is Six months

My sweet little Olivia is now six months old.  She has the sweetest little smile.  She have begun to teeth.  Poor little girl .  Her mouth is so full of drool. She loves to blow raspberries and suck on her fingers.  She has begun rolling over more and has discovered toys if Emme will let her have them.  Her eyes are still blue and though it looks red in this picture her hair is really blond.

My Hubby is amazing!  I am super lucky to have such a great man in my life.  He helps with dishes, laundry even vacuums.  He is wonderful with our kids and doesn't hurt that he is very handsome.   He is still full of surprises.  This morning when I got up he wasn't in bed, so I figured he was doing dishes.  On the mornings he is off he will go clean the kitchen while I sleep.   It wasn't till I went to get the girls up that I saw.  He put up the Christmas decorations!!! He had the tree up with all the ornaments, stocking the whole bit.  It was so sweet.  Got to love that man

Snow Princess . . . Well Maybe Not

I love snow!  Growing up in Alaska you had to learn to love it, since from October to April it was covered in it.  I have fond memories of snowmen, snow fights, snow forts with secret tunnels, sledding, making the snow in the middle of our circle into a snow fort till the plows came to take it away.  So when I saw that there was snow this morning (and it was not gone by the time I had the morning chores and Olivia down for her morning nap she has a cold) I was thrill.  Emme on the other hand didn't know what to make of it.  She refused to walk in it until I did.  Then she was more interested in dusting the snow off my sandals.  I showed her how to pick it up.  She picked up a little and announced it was yucky.  She did not want it on her gloves.  So she took off her gloves and began throwing little pieces that were on the driveway.  Her poor little fingers couldn't handle much of that and we had to go into warm up with hugs and Nila Wafers.  It was a step closer to her liking snow last year she cried the whole time.

Emme had a fun birthday party this year.  We had it at her Grandpa and Grandma Losser's home.  There was tons of yummy food thanks to Karen (Matt's Mom) and I made the cake and cupcakes.  Emme got lots of new clothes, talking elmo and abby, a art center and books.  She loved playing with the balloons and ribbons.  She had a balloon fight with Stockton and Robbie.  While the rest of us sat around, laughed and chatted.  It was a great night.

I love Halloween!  I know there is some that say we shouldn't celebrate Halloween because of it's pagan roots.  Personally I see that the holiday has become more about dressing up, being silly and getting treats.  (Christmas was a pagan holiday before Christians made it about Christ.  It was Winter Solstice)  I love this time of year.  I love fall, pumpkins, the changing of the colors and the baking.  Where I grew up one day the leaves were falling and the next we had a foot of snow.  Our costumes were usually a snow suit with a tiara on top of our knit hat.  It was nice to take our eldest who is almost two out trick or treating with out rain or snow.  We went around our neighborhood/ward.  It was nice to go around see the different people from our neighbor.  (I am really horrible with names I could only tell you a couple names if you asked me)  Emme loved every minute except when she had to hold hands to cross the road.  Though she would hold hands to get up the stairs.  Since she is still too short to walk up them herself.  She had so much fun except for a dog that growled at her as she walked by.  It scared her since all the dogs she has interactions with her are very nice to her.  But another house with candy calmed her down.  Then off to Grandma Karen's for dinner, some trick or treating and a sleep over.   We had a wonderful Halloween.  Matt's new schedule allowed him to be home to take the girls out.  We went to the sheriff's Halloween party, carved Pumpkins, and taught Emme to growl and say brains like a Zombie.   (we figured Auntie Sarah would love that)  i just love Halloween.  Already thinking of costumes for the girls though I think next year we will make them.  The best costume I saw of the night was Buzz Lightyear made out of Duct Tape!!! Best house was the Hathaway's.  It was so cute with all their decorations.  Too Cute
