Mommy Firsts

This week I swear I have had several Mommy Firsts. First Emme decided getting out of her car seat while I was driving was a great idea.  She even thought it was funny.  She came up to my seat and said "weeeeee"  I had to pull over to the nearest parking spot. Let's just say she was no longer laughing and has not gotten out of her seat since.  In fact while were driving her seat belt came undone and she freaked out.  She didn't want to be in trouble.  The next was we have been deep cleaning because Emme's birthday is next Sunday.  So Matt was shampooing the carpet.  He left the toliet seat up to dumb the dirty water in.  I walked in the kid's bathroom in the toilet was Livi's doll.  I guess she was trying to give her a bath.  Emme never did that.  And yesterday during nap time Emme decided she was bored and went got into the diaper bag.  She took the Butt paste.  She decided Livi must be bored too because she went into livi's room and decorated her crib, livi's face and herself.  I am just glad it was not poo.

Boos and Pumpkin Games

Saturday was a busy day for us.  First thing Emme's had her first Halloween party to attend.  Her friend Michelle who lives down the street was having a Halloween party.  Emme had so much fun.  They colored, played bingo, bean bag toss and danced.  Emme loves to dance.  I am not sure you could call it dancing.  She likes to jump around and twirl.  Livi was taking a nap at home.  (Don't worry I left Matt home too) After her fun party we headed to the Boo at the Zoo.  We have been looking for different traditions to for each holiday.  Things to make the holidays ours and not just following the path of others.  Let me say unless you like crowds and pushy people this is not the activity for you.  It took almost forty minutes to find a parking spot. Then we packed the girls into the wagon and tried to enjoy the day.  It was so crowded you couldn't see the animals, except the tigers. (who were asleep)  The candy tables were crowded and there were lots of pushy people who didn't seem to mind pushing a two year old out of the way for a piece of taffy.  (Taffy is gross by the way)  The best part of the zoo was these two young ladies dressed as Princesses.  They greeted each little girl with hugs and stopped to take pictures.  Poor Livi though didn't realize they were Princesses.  The minute I put her down she freaked.  I had to stand in the picture to hold her.  We left early and went to Matt's cousin's Grandson first day party.  I think we got more sugar at the party then at the zoo.  By the end of the day Emme was bouncing off the walls.  Livi just wanted her blanket and dolly.  She was exhausted.

Care Bear Stare!!!

For Halloween this year our little girls are going to be Care Bears. Emme loves Care Bears show.  She really loves My Little Ponies and probably would want to be Pinkie Pie.  However I have no clue how to make that.  Emme is Love a Lot (Old school one) and Livi is Wonderheart (newer one)  Both girls like their costumes.  Emme is big into hats and hoods.  At one point they were even dancing in them.  Which is really them turning around in circles.  But it is cute.

She just loves getting her picture taken

New Shoes

Today has been one of those cold windy day, that requires Hot chocolate and a good book.  Sadly though Emme's feet have grown again.  She has been complaining that her shoes hurt.  She would even sit down in the middle of the store, remove her shoes and point to her feet proclaiming "Ouchy".  So today I decided to brave the chill and go to walmart.  My Mom gave her some money for her birthday to get new shoes.  When  we got to the shoes section I began looking for a foot measure.  I finally asked the woman in the section.  She went in the back and returned with an old one.  She began measuring Emme's foot.  I am so glad I was paying attention and did not take her word on the size.  Because the woman was looking at the inches and not the sizes.  She quickly proclaimed that Emme's foot was size 5.  This was interesting since Emme has been wearing a size six since April.  I thanked the woman and went to find some size seven shoes.  My Dad was in Retail growing up.  He worked for Jc Penney's (Back when the store was nice) He was in charge of the shoe department, so we all learned how to size and fit a shoe.  So I found a pair of tennis shoes, church shoes, and a pair of princess slip on that Emme was thrilled by.  When I asked the same woman if they had a pair of glitter shoes in the back in size seven.  She reminded me Emme was a five.  I was trying to be polite.  She was being pretty nasty about it.  There wasn't much on the shelves. So I decided maybe try some snow boots.  She told me that they only have two kinds right now and none in size five.  I had to take a deep breath and walk on.  The snow boots were ugly and didn't look like they would last.  So with the rest of the money I got a couple puzzles for Emme to play with at the table while I make dinner.  So the moral of the story make sure you measure your own kids feet or you will end up with two sizes two small.

A Family Visit and Dinosaurs

This past week has been another busy one.  My Parents and Sister came to visit.  Along with my fuzzy nephew ( my sister's dog Moseby )  They drove down from Washington.  Me and Emme decided to stay up and wait for them.  They got here about 930 pm.  Emme was so excited to see them she didn't fall asleep till 11pm.  They brought the yummiest tomatoes, carrots and beets from their garden.  Emme every morning went down stairs and woke Sarah up.  I don't Sarah was happy about that.  Livi was a bit shy around them but after a few days she got better.  (Livi is very clingy to mommy to begin with) We had planned to take the girls to Thanksgiving Point's Barnyard Boo.  We thought it would be something fun to do with Matt's brother's family and not scary for Emme.  Unfortunately no one checked the weather and it was pouring.  So we decided to hit the dinosaur museum.  (I think everyone had this great idea it was crowed) It was fun for the kids.  But I think the adults were a little bored after a while.  It was nice to have my family here for the week.  My mom and me went and did genealogy.  Did a little shopping and hit Witches Night out.  Sadly I forgot to take pictures except for when we went to Thanksgiving Point.

Misc Adventures of Emme and Livi

The past couple of Months have been filled with lots of fun things.  We have been busy or sick.  We have had a lot of colds hit our house lately.  We took the girls to Wheeler farm for new family pictures and of course to see the animals.  Toddler time at the library has been a must every week.  The girls like playing dress up and making a mess in the day room.  We tried to go see the witches at Gardner's.  But we have discover Emme has entered 'I am scared of everything stage'.  She is now scared of bugs and most Halloween stuff.  I have to carry her every time she freaks out.  We are a little worried about Halloween this year.  But hopefully the candy will help with the fear.
We went and took new family pictures now that the girls are bigger.
Though Livi  refused to smile till after the flash.

This how she sleeps. Every toy and stuffie she can get her hands on ends up in her bed .

Emme decided that tigger was her new baby.  She was feeding him crackers and her sippy of milk

Livi at her Fifteen Month appt.  Too cute in her pig tails

Livi at Toddler time at the Library.  I couldn't get a good picture of Emme., who was right in the middle of the action.

We discovered Mighty Mini Popsicles!! Less mess  since they melt slower.  Thanks Lauri for the  succession!!!

Emme playing dress up and driving the exercise bike

Went to see the Witches at  Gardner's Village.

Livi didn't mind the Witches, but Emme was scared

She would sit for this but refused to go near the  Witches .
(She also is freaked out by the Wal Mart Halloween aisle)

Getting out our Halloween Decoration.  Emme found her butterfly costume for her first Halloween.  She flew around the house and the yard.  It has been moved to the dress up box
