Fourth of July and Olivia's Blessing

Matt has a crazy schedule. He works seven days in a row before he gets three off then another seven before he gets four days off. So for him to have any holiday off is a miracle. Luckily his four fell on July fourth. Friday we walked to the of our block for the parade. Emme was scared by the sirens. But quickly she got excited when we started clapping. Poor Olivia got nailed with a tootsie roll in the back. Got to love my hubby. I just sat behind him and he block the flying candy. Saturday we drove to Woodland Hills (basically the middle of nowhere) to visit a friend of mine from Alaska. It was nice to see her and her family. Later that night we walked with our neighbors the Spencers to the Riverton park to see the fireworks. I am not sure if Emme had more fun with the fireworks or eating their popcorn. She loves popcorn.
Sunday we blessed our little Olivia. She slept thru the blessing. She is a far more calmer child then Emme who started to cry during hers. Afterward we had a brunch at Matt's parents. Several of his cousins came and two of his aunts. Emme wore herself out entertaining everyone. We were all sitting in the living room watching her eventually she hid behind her grandmother on the couch one minute she was laughing the next she was asleep.
Monday we had Matt's parents and Grandmother Losser over for fireworks. It seemed like the whole neighborhood was setting them off. So we had a little show in our front yard. I love our neighborhood. We live within walking distance of the library, elementary school, grocery store, church and taco bell!

Adjusting to Our Family of Four

It has been almost a month since Olivia has come into our lives. It has been an adjust to say the least. Instead of one child to chase, change diapers, feed, bath. Now we have two beautiful and very different little girls. Emme has been full of personality since birth. Generally very happy always with a smile. So far Olivia is more mild. Her cry is softer and only seems to get upset when Emme steals her binkie and during diaper change.
Emme is slowly adjusting to her sister. She is helpful at moments holding her bottle or getting her binkie when she cries. However she tends to be a bit ruff with her at times and thinks it is a game to steal her binkie or blanket and run.
Slowly we are trying to figure out a routine that works for us. With Matt's work schedule and me still healing it has been slow going. Hopefully soon I will be back to full speed. With Emme it took me almost three months to get to feeling well. It doesn't help that I have to readjust to meds and feeling my PCOS again. (the symptoms mostly go away when pregnant) It isn't much fun. But hopefully soon I will get it where it is under control again.

Olivia Ellen is finally here!!!

Olivia Ellen Losser was born May 24th, 2011. She weighted 7.15lbs and 19 1/2 inches long. She was born after eight hours of labor. (I went from a 4 1/2 to a 8 in an hour in a half) She was born with the cord around her foot after it slide down from her stomach. She had to have a bit of oxygen afterwards, however it perfectly healthy. She had a tiny red mark from delivery which is almost gone. We are so happy to finally have her here.
