The House that had enough

When I was a kid one of my favorite books to read was called The House That Had Enough. It was the story of a girl who mistreated everything in her home.  So finally they got tired of it and they ran away.  First went her bed because she never made it.  Next was her clothes due to never washing them or putting them away.  And so on and so on till everything took off except her pillow because the pillow liked the way she treated her.  I guess she didn't drool.  Finally the house grew legs and began to leave all because this girl's mistreatment.  (I always wondered where this girl's parental supervision was.) 

   I have decided that our home decided it had enough.  However instead of taking it out on the people that neglected it, the house is taking it out on us.  We have had to redo our basement bathroom, due to someone using three and half inch screws for shelves and a medicine cabinet.  They went through the pipes.  We have had our tub spout die.  The water softener leak and flood our basement.  So many other glorious things. Now our master bathroom has been leaking into the basement, ruining the the ceiling.  We blamed the tile in front of the shower.  Since the grout was nearly gone.  Nope the toilet has been leaking under the tile for years and the whole floor was damaged and had to be replaced.  So we got a new bathroom before we were ready.  This house has had enough.  And of course as we finished this project, the swamp cooler dies!!!

    The after  We still have a couple things to add like a cabinet above the toilet and some pictures.  But it looks way better and it feels bigger.
