This new year has brought on some new goals, projects and two schedule changes. First it brought Matt's new bind. In January and August they change schedules and some times positions in the jail. He was going from processing (booking, searching in the prisoners) to back to the housing units. He was very happy about this. He found out what his hours would be. He went from day shift 6am - 2pm where he could be home in the afternoons, have dinner as a family. Sadly he went back to evening shift, which is 2pm- 10pm. By the time we have breaksfast, showers, there is very little time to do anything before he has to get ready for work. We had prayed hard for him to get 12 hour days. Or any 12 hour shift. So we felt like our prayers weren't answered. Plus the sgt. on afternoons doesn't like giving time off unless it is a pet emergency. However a miracle happened after a week of afternoons. He called and said he was being switch to 12hour nights. Our prayers were answered. This means way more time off. He work four days then four days off. He does this twice and then work three and gets five off. Which gives us more time for our summer adventures.
This year I actually made resolutions so far I have done horrible with them except two. But I have also added a couple goals to them.
1. Lose the baby weight finally. This have been hard I have lost forty pounds so far. But everytime I seem to make real progress. I have a PCOS flare up or I get sick.
2. Read my scriptures every day. I do pretty good here and there but need more work on this
3. Read more. Before I was married I use to do alot of reading.
4. Potty train Emme. That is going so so. Emme says no to everything. So we are waiting till she is over the no phase.
5. Get back to doing my genealogy. This is the one I am doing. I love genealogy. I always say I do better with the dead then the alive.
I added a project to my lists of things to do. On Ancestry. com you can upload your family tree and put pictures and documents on certain people. It is great but it is a slow process. And I have discovered I am not organized as I thought was. I keep finding pictures in the wrong folders. So another project I must do reorganizing my files. I also am trying to gather Matt's sides genealogy. So much work to do. But at least I love to do it.

Congratulations on the weight loss! I think losing weight is the hardest thing in the world. I, personally, hate it. I love your other goals. Keep working for all of them and you'll succeed. I just know it. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the weight loss. That is really impressive. I have come to the conclusion that it is almost impossible to lose weight in grad school because I sit on my butt for at least nine hours a day. I would really like to lose a few pounds though. Oh Well. I'm glad that Matt was able to get on nights. Hopefully, this shift works out better for your family.
