A little bit of Alaska

I miss Alaska. There are so many things I miss about it.  I miss how it always a brilliant green (in the summer),  birch trees,  Reindeer Salami,  Moose Tooth (Best Pizza ever), mountains (Our foothills dwarf the so called mountains here), fresh fish,  my friends,  I could on and on.  Alaska is such a wonderful place.  Most of all I miss my family.  Two of my four brothers still live in Alaska with their families.  (Alan and his family live in Portland and Mike live in Battleground, WA but Chris and co live in Wasilla and Matt and fam in Anchorage)  The Sunday night before conference Chris called to tell me him and Melissa would be in Utah for General Conference.  (Our church has a conference every six months)  Chris and Mel have never met our kids.  Thank goodness for modern technology it makes it easier for us to keep in touch.  Sunday night after the last session of conference Chris and Mel came to visit.  At first the girls were a bit shy, however that quickly faded away.  Chris was throwing them in the air and the girls were crawling into their laps.  Alex who is in full swing of baby anxiety cried a couple times when they picked him up.  But once he realized Mommy was right there and Mommy was fine with him being held, he did quite well.  The girls really loved having them there and so did I.  The next day they wanted to know if they were coming back to play. It was nice to talk and give them each a great big hug.  I only wish they could have brought the kids.  But that would have been a small fortune to get all four of the kids here.  Someday we may back to Alaska.

My brother Chris and Alex.  Alex was in love with his beard.
