Viva Las Vegas

We have been married six years.  In this time we have never taken a vacation with just me and Matt.  All of our vacations has been with his parents or to visit mine.  So we decided that we need a trip just us.  It has been a pretty stressful year.  So Matt's parents to offered to watch the girls and we decided to take a short trip to Vegas.  We took Alex with us because he is nine months and that is too little to be away from Mommy.  It was a six hour drive.  So I took a couple books thinking I could read on the drive.  Nope.  Alex decided my job was to entertain him the whole time.  He thought it was hilarious anytime I put anything on his head or he was attacked by his elephant.  Poor kid was not happy about being in his car seat, even with breaks.
Of course since we don't drink or party our Vegas weekend was very tame. Day one we went to the Strip.  We went to the Coke store because Matt wanted a soda.  The M&M store.  Which had the same stuff four years old when we were last there.  Then we went to the Hershey store.  I love chocolate as does our little Livi. (We got her a shirt that said she would trade her sister for a Hershey bar)  They had the statue of liberty and the empire state building made out of chocolate.  We also looked around the miracle mile shops.  We had lunch at the Earl of Sandwich, so not impressed.  So super tiny portions for tons of money and it wasn't even that great.
We also hit the outlets shops.  We got the girls some princess shirts and some cute beach towels.  Alex got a R2D2 shirt.   We also hit the pool in our hotel.  Alex loved to splash water in my eyes.  He may have loved it but my contacts didn't.
Our last day full we went to Cesar Palace so I could go to chocolate shop.  I heard they had a clock that gave out chocolate.  It didn't do anything.  Everything was so over priced.  Eight dollars for a tiny cup of gelato.  We then went to the Belliago to see their chocolate fountain.  Got some gelato way better priced there.  We went way too early since we planned to go the buffet for crab legs.  So we sat around, talked and looked at different shops before it was time for the crab.
We both loved crab legs we ate till we were sick of them.  Matt thought I was crazy because I tried different caviar.  Found I like the little black ones but didn't like Trout caviar yuck.  The prime rib was yummy.  There was tons of seafood.  Alex loved all the strawberries he could eat.  Matt loved all the meat he could eat.
Sunday we got up early and headed back to Utah.  We wanted to be home by 4pm. Alex was not happy again so I got entertain while Matt drove.  I got maybe a couple chapters in my book read.  I need to find some time to finish it since I am amid projects.  (It is about the occupation of Norway by the Nazi in WWII.)  We straight to Matt's cousin's house.  It was her son's birthday party.  Christen was turning 19.  The girls were so happy to see us then ran to us for hugs. Matt's cousin Marnie always has great parties.  The girls love going to Marnie's.  They have fun playing with Aspen and Stockton (Matt's cousins' kids)  They have a trampoline and a swing set.  Livi was super happy she got to play in the car they have. (She never gets to play with it if a certain cousin is there he doesn't know how to share)  They had cupcakes.  Which thrilled Alex he has a major sweet tooth.  I think there was more in the grass then in his mouth.   It was nice after being gone to be home with our kids.
