Since my hubby and I work two different work schedules. I am often alone with Emme at night. So lately I have been talking to her. I have this theory that babies still remember the spirit world and can even still see through the veil. That is why they have to learn to talk. So last night we had a chat about the spirit world. I asked her who she meet there. When I mentioned certain names she stared at me blankly. But other names she smiled and grinned at. I asked her did she meet Grandma Margaret who died in May. She began giggling. Then I asked her about my great auntie Muriel, Nana, Great Grandma Olsen and Grandma Ellen Tolman (her daddy's grandma) She was all giggles. I think when we are in the spirit world we are cared for by our family that have gone before us. And those children we have lost are cared and loved by them till we can reunited again.
I also think babies know who Christ is. I remember when my niece Emma was a baby she always stared at a statue of Christ my mother had in the living room. And how her sister Cora always stared at this Chad Hawkins picture that hung on our parents' wall. It was a drawing of the Portland Oregon Temple with Christ standing behind it. Last month we went up to temple square and we were in the conference center. I showed Emme a statue of Christ she just smiled. When we are in church, I often point out the pictures and ask her if she knows who it is. She always smiles at Christ. I think babies just know who loves them. They know Christ like they know their mommy and daddy. Because they can feel the love
