Happy Birthday Matt!!!

August has become a busy month of birthdays.  August 2 is my Mom's 106th, 14th is Matt's 38th, 27th is Alexander's 1st and the 29th is my eldest brother Alan's 52nd.   Matt's birthday was this week.  Sadly he had to work on his birthday, but as we always try to make every birthday special in some shape or form that didn't stop us from celebrating several times.  The night before his birthday after he had left for work and Alex went to bed for the night, the girls made their Daddy Happy birthday signs so when he came home in the morning he would get a nice surprise. (Alex tends to eat crayons and paper so it is safer to do projects after he goes to bed) Then we made him cupcakes so when he got up for lunch we could sing to him.  Even made a couple extra to take to work with him.
Saturday we planned to go out to dinner with his parents to celebrate. Sadly he woke up with Livi's cold.  She had been sick the last couple days.  So most of our Saturday was spent watching cartoons and cleaning noses.  We went to a Mexican place Matt likes for dinner.  Then back to his parents for cake and ice cream. We sat around and chatted for a while mainly planning our trip to Disneyland next year.   Matt said he had a nice birthday even though he was sick.  Matt is such a  great dad and a wonderful father.  He is quick to pitch in helping with laundry or dishes.  He always keeps the lawn nice and takes care of the chickens.  He plays with the kids but also helps keep them in line.  I am so glad the Lord put him in my life.  It is so nice to be married to my best friend, but I guess in the best marriages you always are.  Happy Birthday Matt!!

Of course even Happy had to get into the picture too

Happy birthday!!!

She told us that a chocolate cupcake would cure her cold

Matt wasn't feeling well so Livi gave him her Minnie to sleep with.  While Alex tried to eat Emme's crayons.

Chatting with his parents

The girls coloring while we waited for our meals

Isn't he cute like his Daddy

So this year I decided to make a candy cake.  Since Matt loves candy.  It had hershey bark, twix and snickers on it.  I forgot to bring the candles and the only ones his mom had were pink.
Alex loves cake.  He inhaled his little piece.  It shall be interesting with his birthday cake

Isn't he cute.  Emme offered to blow out the candles

A bath in Grandma's sink.  He thought that was fun.
