Elephants, Tigers and Monkeys !!!

Saturday we went to the Zoo (we got to the zoo lots.  We have a zoo pass and Emme loves the animals)   We went with Matt's brother Travis's family.  Parking was a nightmare since it was a Saturday and a holiday weekend.  Funny part is we both found a place to park at the same time and almost next to each other.  We had fun walking around, talking and watching the kids reactions to the different animals. The girls loved spending time with Riley, their Aunt and Uncle.

Emme had to help with the wagon

Washington Part Two

Monday we went to my favorite little cafe, Berry Fields.  I was super happy because it was split pea soup day.  They have the best soup.  Livi kept the people at the next table entertained.  I think she just wanted their french fries.  But it was nice to have lunch with my mom, sister, hubby and kids.  Tuesday was Matt's birthday!  So we went to the Adriatic Grill.  He loves their hamburger.  I loved their steak salad.  We celebrated with a nice steak dinner, a trip for ice cream and my special Triple Chocolate Mousse cake complete with Nutella and Raspberries.  Wednesday we went to see my 95 year old grandmother.  It was a long drive.  But it was nice to see her and for her to met the girls.  We took her to lunch and spent some time with her before taking the long drive back.  (Seattle traffic is what makes it so long) Thursday my brother Matt and his wife came.  (Some how we both ended up coming to visit the same week)  We took the girls to the zoo with my sister and our sister in law Anna.  It was so hot it reminded me of Utah. Friday we hit the fair. The fair wasn't that great.  It was super small and didn't have much to look at.  The best things were the quinoa food booth and the Weird Al concert.  Matt the hubby said that we should have stayed home and let my cousin Doreen babysit us too.  While we were at the fair/concert my cousin and her granddaughter Ty took care of the girls.  They had a blast.  Bouncy castle, a six year old to play with, movies, and pizza.  They were in heaven.
Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby!!!

Off to Great Grandma's we go!

The Weird Al Concert best part when he sang to Sarah with his foot on her shoulder  twice.
Saturday we packed up and left.  Since we decided to split the drive up this time.  The drive was better this time and the motel we found was cheap and clean.  We both miss Washington and my family.  We are hoping for another trip next summer too.

Washington Trip Part One

A couple weeks ago we were able to drive up to Washington and see my family. (well some of it)  It was nice since we hadn't seen  them in a couple months.  And Matt got to see Washington in it's summer glory.  The drive was long thirteen hours.  We decided to drive over night thinking this would making it easier with the girls.  Matt had a hard time staying awake and I couldn't sleep.  Emme got car sick at 5am.  But when we finally got to my parents we were so happy to get out of the car.
We attacked their garden.  My dad has tomatoes, onions, zucchini, carrots, beets (one of my favorite things), strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. They also have tons of fruit trees.  The girls loved to get apples.

Vampire Doctor Strikes Again

Every six months I have to go see the Vampire Doctor.  No he doesn't look like Edward Cullen.  It is because he takes my blood.  Every appointment down to the lab where they take a minimal of three vials of my blood.  My record is eight.  (This isn't a big record compared to my sister.  She had a pik line put in several times so she wins the blood draw record. Not that this a record anyone wants to beat.)
I arrived ten minutes late, mainly because I thought taking State Street would be quicker.  Nope didn't realize how bad the construction was.  Most time I am early and then I sit around for a half an hour waiting.  This time the new receptionist couldn't figure how to add my insurance card to the system.  Mainly because she didn't have the scanner on.  She kept writing herself notes in a messier handwriting then the doctors.  So as I stood waiting for her to figure it all out.  I noticed a huge bag of candy just sitting on the desk in full view of everyone.  Why is this so interesting?  I see a endrocrologist.  The majority of his patients are diabetic.  I felt bad for the new receptionist that I didn't mentioned to her that probably not the best thing to have on the counter.  I felt sorry for her even when she handed me my receipt in where I became Alice Loser.
My regular doctor no longer works there so I was seeing a different guy.  I have seen this guy before so it wasn't a big deal.  I actually like him better.  (He listens and doesn't look at me like I am crazy)  He told me my labs were great.  He did the normal exam and told me I could lower my meds because my labs were so great.  Off to get my blood drawn. If the receptionist could figure out how to find my lab orders.  While standing around some guy started hitting on me.  (He thought I was single cause my ring was sitting on the sink ledge from doing dishes)
The rule is if I don't hear from my doctor there is nothing wrong with my latest labs.  I have only called me once in the four years of being seen.  So I put no thought to hearing from him.  Till Saturday when I was preparing dinner.  I received a call from my pharmacy till me that my new med won't be ready till Monday.  WHAT?  What new med?  The lady on the phone told me I was being prescribed sytharoid.  What is that for?  Something was wrong with my thyroid.  The med is for hypothyroidism.
Of course I spent all weekend panicking.  You see I have PCOS.  It is a disease that 1 in 20 women have.  It causes all sorts of issues.  Main ones inability to lose weight, infertility, and miscarriages. Along with a bunch of other fun things.  To add to it I have hypoglycemia, and anemia.  The first thing I read is you can't take iron with this new med.  And hypothyroidism cause all the things PCOS causes.  Dumb me I started reading blogs of several women who had both conditions and how having children was kinda out the window.  I just wanted to hide and cry.  I already have issues getting pregnant and staying that way.  A new trial to my already trial filled life.
Monday I swear I called my doctor's office more then a dozen times.  Leaving so many messages and no answers.  So we went to pick up the med. The pharmacist asked me if I have ever taken this med.  When I told him no.  He told me not to take it since it was triple the starting dose.  200mg.  Normally they start at 25mg.  So once again I called and called.  Finally the nurse called me back and told me they never ordered me this med.  And of course they blamed the pharmacy.  But the pharmacy had the new doctor's name.  She told me I don't have hypothyroidism.  And not to take the meds.
It is so funny how you can be faced with a trial and then after lots of prayers and prayer roll the trial can be taken away.
